Creating a safe space and trusting relationship where people can deeply explore what is blocking them from enjoying their lives to the fullest is the utmost importance for healing. Every person’s path is different and no one heals exactly the same. She traditionally utilizes mindfulness-based approaches, experiential therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, 12 Step facilitation, reality therapy, ACT, Dialectical Behavioral therapy, and creative expression to assist clients in finding their path to recovery. Kerrie is a space holder for Y12SR, the integration of 12 steps into the yoga practice.
She is trained in Brainspotting Level 1, Resident in Counseling in Virginia, Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, and Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (since 2020). Kerrie is a 2023 Minority Addiction Fellow through the Nation Board of Certified Counselors which assisted in my goal of prioritizing underserved and historically marginalized people.
